Two Petersburg non profit organizations are joining forces this weekend to raise awareness for Indigenous women who have been murdered or have gone missing.

WAVE and SEARHC will be hosting a run/walk on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.

WAVE is an acronym for Working Against Violence for Everyone and SEARHC is the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium.

KFSK’s Angela Denning spoke with a couple people from the non profits about the event. The voices you’ll hear are Annette Wooton and Natocha Lyons

Registration for the run-walk is at 8 a.m. at the Hallingstad Peratrovich Building.
